First Responders - Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act Grants (FR-CARA)

FR-CARA aims to equip first responders and community leaders with resources for training, administering, and distributing FDA-approved overdose reversal medications like naloxone. Recipients are tasked with creating protocols for warm hand-off referrals to treatment, recovery, harm reduction, and psychosocial support services. Additionally, they will provide safety education on fentanyl, synthetic opioids, and other drug trends linked to overdoses.
